Two successful press conferences were held at The Stanley Hotel Nairobi with good coverage by the dailies, TV and magazines.

Our sponsors were Swiss International Airlines, Landrover, Revlon/Colomer Group, Sarova, Citizen TV, Bushstock Entertainment, Surazuri, Filmstudios Kenya Ltd, Nederburg, Balozi Productions, East African Canvas Company and The Flower Hub.

All finalists received free training and a portfolio as well as representation by Surazuri.

Worldwide Director of the Ford Models Supermodel of the World Search, Iris Minier, was flown in to judge the finals.

The final event was advertised on road banners, in the Nation Newspaper and on posters all over Nairobi.
The finals were held at an elegant cocktail event at Filmstudios on 28 October 2007.

The ‘state of the art’ fashion show entitled ‘About Dreams’ featured custom made designs by Kiko Romeo, Betty Vanetti, Penny Winter, Johari, Dawn of Creation and House of Treasures. 

Guest speaker was Njoki Ndungu and ‘Tractor Girl’, Manon Ossevort, collected dreams from the audience.

The show was covered by KTN Artscene. South African show - Studio 53 produced a feature on the event and KBC and Citizen ran a documentary of the whole Kenyan search as well as the finals. Numerous local and foreign media were present.

14 finalists competed for the opportunity to represent Kenya at the International finals held at Skylight Studios in New York.

The winner, 14 year old, Fatma Ahmed was unable to travel so was replaced by Issabel Karuthiru, the runner up, who traveled to New York with Lyndsey McIntyre (who covered the international finals for the press) in January 2007. Issabel stayed at the famous Hudson Hotel in Manhattan, was given $300 shopping vouchers, went sightseeing and received additional catwalk training and portfolio pictures. The final event was won by Sanne Nijhof from The Netherlands.
